Our Story
An independent little corner of Peterborough
Bijou is independently owned, locally rooted and built around the people who walk through the door.
We opened Bijou with one simple idea: the city centre deserved a cocktail bar and café that felt like somewhere, not anywhere. A room with warm lighting, considered décor and drinks made properly. whether you're in for a flat white at two or a martini at ten.
Since then we've hosted more birthdays than we can count, more hen and stag parties than our neighbours probably realise, and a steady stream of company celebrations. Every one of them gets shaped around the group, the music, the drinks, the room, the timings.
Being independent means we get to make those calls ourselves. It also means we can back the people around us: local DJs and singers on our stage most weekends, local suppliers behind the bar, and a genuine stake in the food and drink scene growing across Peterborough.
The Venue

The VIP Basement
Downstairs is where the volume lives: its own bar, its own sound and room to dance. The natural home for hen parties and milestone birthdays.
The Main Bar
Marble, warm brass and a bartender who remembers your order. Coffee and cake by day, live music and cocktails once the sun drops.
